Car/Jeep hire can be easily arranged for the independent traveler. Barbados like Britain drives on the left. You will need your drivers license before being able to hire a vehicle.

A large fleet of government and private buses have route to and from Bridgetown and fares are BDS$1.50 per journey.

Taxis are available in all the main centres and at tourist locations. They will also take you on island tours and to specific places of interest.

Coach tours of the island are available as are tours in 4x4 vehicles which take you to the more inaccessible areas of the island. Both tours usually include lunch and refreshment.
